Andre Minaux (French, 1923-1988) Signed and Numbered Lithograph on Fine Grain Cream Wove Paper "Les Deux Modeles" André Minaux was a mid-century French artist known for his stylized Social Realist paintings and prints., mostly figurative compositions. Minaux was born in Paris in 1923 and studied under French painter Maurice Brianchon at the Ecole National Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs 1941 to 1945. Exhibiting his work as early as 1944 at the Parisian Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Indépendants, Minaux found considerable recognition and critical acclaim. Minaux's work was celebrated at the 1949 Prix de la Critque, and he was the subject of a solo exhibition at the Galerie des Impressions d'Art in 1946. Minaux produced a mural over 20 meters in length at the Maison de la Pensée Française in Paris in 1960, expanding his theme of depicting women in interior spaces. Dimensions: 20 inches tall x 16 wide. Good vintage condition.
