A very versatile high quality paper made in germany from acid and chlorine free wood pulp. The paper is manufactured on a fourdrinier machine, a process first perfected by and patented by the fourdrinier brothers in 1803. andy warhol’s series of silkscreen paintings of marilyn monroe immediately followed her suicide in august 1962. Warhol’s statement on the subject linked marilyn with the origins of his death and disaster series of paintings when he said "i guess it was the big plane crash picture, the front page of a newspaper: 129 die. I was also painting the marilyns. I realized that everything i was doing must have been death." all of his photo-silkscreened paintings and screenprints are based on the same source image of a publicityphoto of marilyn monroe for her 1953 film niagara. ©/®/™ 2022 the andy warhol foundation for the visual arts, inc.
