This artwork titled "Boulevard Bonne Nouvelle en Autonne" 2007 is a pastel on paper by French artist Anne De Vernac, b.1930. It is hand signed by the artist at the lower right corner. The artwork size is 8.55 x 12.25 inches, framed is 22.75 x 27 inches. A certificate signed by the artist is affixed on the back, see picture #7. Custom framed in a wooden gold frame, with white matting and gold color bevel. It is in excellent condition. About the artist: Born in 1930, Anne De Vernac was primarily influenced by the 1930s. This period can be best characterised by the duelling of the world’s foremost political philosophies - Marxist Socialism, Capitalist Democracy, and the Totalitarianism of both Communism and Fascism. In the United States, the Great Depression had a great influence on artistic production, with a number of artists focusing on the agrarian and the modest man in the streets. attempted to use their art to influence society. Artists held exhibitions on social and political themes such as poverty, lack of affordable housing, anti-lynching, anti-fascism, and workers' strikes. Anne de Vernac favorite subjects in her paintings and drawings is to show everyday’s life in Paris’s streets, parks and near known monuments. Her work is held in private collections in France and the U.S.
