This is a beautiful Vintage Original Hand-Signed Etching by Listed American Artist Annette Robyns (1914-1994) titled "Lunar Voyage." This striking modernist composition features bold abstract forms against a dramatic dark background, creating a dreamlike, surreal atmosphere. Pencil signed, titled, and numbered 5/25, making this an exceptionally small edition. A wonderful example of Robyns' sophisticated mid-century modern aesthetic. Sold unframed as shown. Robyns studied under renowned artist Fernand Léger, and elements of his modernist influence can be seen throughout her work. Robyns (neé Annette Robyns Rabinowitz) studied at the New York School of Industrial Art and continued in Paris with Fernand Leger. In the 1940s she settled in Los Angeles and obtained her M.A. degree at California State University. After her marriage to actor Donald Elson in 1961, she established the Robyns-Elson Gallery where she sold her works as well as those of other modernists.
