This nice serene sunrise harbor seascape is signed lower right Wm Wilson 1877. Mr, Cowell painted in many places in the US and Nova Scotia, but it has been suggested that this painting may have been done from the property of Fitz Henry Lane in Gloucester , Mass. The two noted painters would certainly have known each other, so it is possible. This painting has been relined and touched up in the past, and would benefit from a cleaning, but presents well as is, and still has it's original frame.
