These large authentic antique 18th century etchings are from a fine, rare portfolio of sepia etchings after the original drawings created by the world famous Renaissance artist Raphael (Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino ,Italy 1483-1520). The etchings and printing were done in Rome by the listed Italian artist Paolo Fidanza (Italy 1731-1785).The etchings are large...elephant folio size (15.25" x 20.5") and were printed in a rich sepia ink. Printed c.1785 on handmade paper on one side only. Only the etchings are for sale. The title page is not included, but can be printed out. Great for a large wall treatment. Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (Italy 1483-1520), known as Raphael, was an Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance. His work is admired for its clarity of form, ease of composition, and visual achievement of the Neoplatonic ideal of human grandeur. Paolo Fidanza Italy 1731-1819) was a painter-etcher from Camerino, Italy. He published "Teste scelte di personaggi illustri" (the portfolio containing these etchings) in Rome between 1756 and 1766.
