This pair of imperial folio size 19th century steel engravings depict architectural details of the Palais de Fontainebleau. Engravers at times literally went blind after a lifetime of intricate engraving. The images in this series were printed in Paris on heavy "wove" paper. Printed in Paris on one side only.
