18th century engraving portrait of the English portrait painter John Greenhill (c. 1644-1676) and John Baptist Jaspers or John Baptist Gaspars (died 1891). Both were associated with the English artist Sir Peter Lely (1618-16780). Engraved by Alexander Bannerman (c. 1730-1774) from the publication by Horace Walpole "Anecdotes of painting in England : with some account of the principal artists, and incidental notes on other arts : collected by the late Mr. George Vertue, and now digested and published from his original Manuscript." This is probably from the 1798 publication, but could be from 1765 edition. Sheet size averages 11 x 8.5 inches. More are available in my store for framed groups.
