Antique Genre Painting Musketeers And Fortune Teller Tavern Scene Framed Spanish Wall Art Oil On Board

Chairish

$2,800

This charming antique oil painting captures a lively tavern scene featuring four musketeers gathered around a table, enjoying wine in the warm glow of a rustic setting. At the center of the composition, an old fortune teller reads the palm of a seated cavalier, while a flirtatious musketeer behind him engages with a beautiful young waitress. The figures are set before an elaborately carved wooden mantel, adding depth and historic ambiance to the scene. The painting is signed in the lower left by Francisco Moles, a Spanish school painter from Segovia, active in the late 19th to early 20th century. Moles was known for his vivid genre scenes, including depictions of gypsy camps, traveling performers, and Moorish interiors. The back of the board bears the title “La Buena Ventura” (Spanish for The Good Fortune), written in pencil. Presented in an elegant gilt wood frame, this piece is ready to hang and brings character and narrative to any space. Ideal as wall décor for a bar, pub, tavern, game room, or as a conversation piece in an eclectically styled interior. Securely packed and shipped fully insured with tracking. Measurements: Frame: 20 3/4" by 16 1/2" (52.7 cm by 41.9 cm); Board: 13 3/4" by 9 3/4" (34.9 cm by 24.8) approximately.
