A partially submerged barrel is next to the plank, which also has inscription on Swamped with an anchor symbol & London. Overhead seagulls flying in a mainly overcast sky with light blue coming through in places. A rather nice display size with the frame being 43 cm high and 60 cm wide. A great example of the animal breed. Oil on canvas, set in the original wood gilt frame. Indistinctly signed on the collar by a British school artist. Circa 1880 late 19th century Victorian era.
