This 19th-century oil painting on a metal panel depicts a dramatic naval scene titled 'Lord Howe on the Deck of the Queen Charlotte, 1 June 1794.' The artwork is housed in a wide, ornate gilt frame featuring scrolled acanthus leaf carvings and a rope-twist inner border.
