Emmeline Harris (1853-1930) was born in London and was renowned for her depiction of mythological subjects. She was a frequent exhibitor of such works at both the Royal Academy and in Paris during the late Nineteenth Century. This elegant piece with a graceful Art Nouveau Lady playing with a ball is typical of her work.
