Antique portrait of a girl with her doll by William St. John Harper (1851-1910), signed lower right. Mixed-media using oils, pastels, and gouache on paper. William St. John Harper was a painter, etcher, illustrator, and teacher active for many years in New York City and East Hampton. Harper's memberships included the Artists' Aid Society and New York Etching Club. He exhibited at the National Academy of Design, New York, and the Pan-American Expo, Buffalo, 1901.
