$444

Abstract Composition is an original colored artwork realized by Antonio Sanfilippo in 1971. Colored lithograph on paper. Edited by La Nuova Foglio, Macerata. Hand-signed and dated in pencil on the lower left. Numbered on the lower right. Edition 35/100. Good conditions. This colored lithograph represents an abstract composition of the artist's last production period. The artwork represents an amazing composition where the black color predominates. In the dense weave of signs small green and red touches can be seen Antonio Sanfilippo (Partanna, 1923-Roma, 1980), was an Italian painter, who greatly influenced and contributed to the development of abstract art in Italy. He was one of the most important characters of the artistic group "Forma 1". As the other participants, he supported a no realistic art, in which the important part is the form and not the meaning or implications of the subject. The lithograph presented is a perfect example of this peculiar view of art, in which signs and forms are the central themes. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
