Art deco genre scene painting. Art deco' genre scene depicting in the foreground a woman probably a guardian a intent on cutting an apple to give to a typical child of the 1920s/30s. Behind the two figures in the foreground is a young red-haired woman intent on sewing. The scene takes place indoors, and as a background we find a vase of flowers and draperies. The main light source comes from the window on the left, this choice gives the painting movement given through natural light. Despite being a family scene the painting is austere and conveys a severity probably due to the war years. Thanks to the interiors and clothing we can guess that the characters are part of a wealthy social class. The painting made in oil on canvas in the early 1900' is unfortunately unsigned. from the style of painting and depiction it can be placed in the early 900' and Emilian influences are denoted. The canvas is in excellent condition as it has undergone a conservative restoration and has been reinteled.
