This large, colorful advertising poster is a classic French lithograph, circa 1900. and was printted by the renowned Imprimerie G. Delattre et Cie in Paris with French tax stamp visible in the field. With rich period typography and classic turn-of-the-century advertising imagery throughout, it is titled "Sirop ‘Fruit Thé", and was designed as an advertisement for a fruit-and-tea syrup famously marketed with the tagline "bonifie tous les apéritifs" (improves all aperitifs). The lovely Belle Epoque young woman wears a stylish outfit while she demurely sips her drink at a Paris cafe. Outstanding presence and detail. G. Delattre & Cie. (also known as G. Delattre et Cie or Delattre & Co.) was a prominent French lithography and printing firm based in Paris during the early 20th century. The poster exhibits expected age-related toning, fold lines, light creasing, and handling wear consistent with antique lithographic posters of the era. Professionally framed and matted in a gold wash wooden frame with glass. An impressive large-scale decorative and collectible French advertising piece.
