Rare, iconic, 1966 Exhibition Lithograph Poster, entitled "Big Nudes", was created for the School of Visual Arts, New York City, by internationally renown, graphic artist, Milton Glaser (1929-2020), The poster features a simple line drawing of the bottom half of a nude figure., which features the swooping lines of his contemporaneous work, but in a muted two-color palate, the central nude figure begins to crawl off the page. (Credit: Milton Glaser Design Study Center and “Big Nudes” exhibition poster, 1966) Glaser designed this abstract, pop art, poster for The Visual Arts Gallery in New York. The poster promoted an exhibition of oversized photographs of nude women by Helmut Newton, challenging traditional beauty standards. Glaser is probably best known for his graphic art logo, "l heart New York" which seemed to festoon every shopping bag and bumper sticker for the last 60 years. Known for his creative, graphic arts whimsy, his intention was to illustrate a nude figure so large it could not be contained within the poster's space, extending into the area beyond, creating a virtual frame within the space mage Measurements approximately 36" W x 24" H Printed on heavy duty rag-like paper. In very nice condition. The poster was never framed and stored flat 1960s Vintage Pop Art Abstract Milton Glaser Big Nudes Exhibition Poster School Visual Arts NEW York
