An early Modernist, he is often considered to be the first American Abstract painter. Dove used a wide range of media, sometimes in unconventional combinations, to produce his Abstractions and Abstract landscapes. He experimented with techniques and materials, combining paints like hand mixed oil or tempera over a wax emulsion. It is printed on high quality heavyweight paper stock with vibrant ink colors in a satin finish.
