This captivating 18th-Century copperplate engraving depicts a furniture design for a very ornate bed created by the famed furniture designer and maker Thomas Chippendale. It was printed in London in the mid 1700's in "The Gentleman's and Cabinet Maker's Directory". They are printed on one side only on handmade "laid" paper.
