This set of twelve (12) authentic early 18th century original chiaroscuro woodcuts (c.1708) after the original drawings by Hubert Goltzius. (Dutch, 1526–1583) depict Roman emperors and historical rulers. On the reverse of each is a description in Latin. Published in Antwerp, Belgium in 1708. These prints are rare and it is difficult to acquire sets of more than 3 or 4 of these woodcuts. Most retail prices range between $200-$350 each.
