Bernard Buffet was a French painter and lithographer who studied at the Paris Ecole des Beaux-Arts. Buffet is known for his prolific output and distinctive style, producing more than 8,000 works during his career. A member of the anti-abstraction group, Buffet defended representation art. He is known for his unique graphic, architectural forms and subtle color palettes. His work is sometimes viewed as an interpretation of the emotional state of the mid-century post war generation. Buffet’s paintings can be found around the world at museums including the Tate Modern, Museum of Modern Art and the Bernard Buffet Museum in Japan. Dimensions: framed 26 3/4" high x 32 1/4" wide.
