Masterfully combining surrealist and expressionist styles, Thai artist Sakchai paints a composition that is filled with energy. Against a textured backdrop, the image of a horse is depicted in black and white. Certain elements of the horse are depicted with hyper-realistic detail, as if we are viewing through the horse's skin to see its muscles and sinew. As the horse moves, a second version of itself emerges, suggesting the animal's strength and power. Sakchai uses pastels to create a textured surface over the canvas before capturing his subject with black acrylics.
