Hieroglyph-like patterns are sculpted and layered to create depth and texture. The plaster surface has been finished in a highly matte black paint. I like this piece just fine unframed, but I built in enough margin on the edges to accommodate a frame if you feel different. The piece comes installed with hanging hardware.
