"Blue Roan" This painting was done as plein air painting in a show in Idaho, we were allowed access to a private ranch and I have always loved the color of a blue roan horse. Painting a horse from life is always tricky as you never know when they're going to walk away. But this guy stayed still long enough for me to get a good likeness.
