"Botanica Vi". - Gum Dichromate Print By S. Howard
$175
Chairish
"Botanica VI" is a gum-dichromate print. This photography process goes back to the 1850. In brief, hand made paper is coated with pigment that has been light-sensitized with dichromate, layered with a negative, and then exposed to a light source. In this case many repeated exposures with multiple negatives deepen and enrich its tones. The completed image has a closer resemblance to a watercolor painting than to a conventional photograph. Each print is unique and archival. S. Howard, a Bay Area artist, graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1974 and has a fondness for old processi. This print 15" x 11". There are 4 unique prints available.
