BRASSAÏ (1899 - 1984), Hungarian photographer Pablo Picasso at the Café de Flore (1939) Superb atmospheric photograph at the Café de Flore in 1939, where we see in the middle of the room the Spanish master surprised in the middle of a complicit conversation with a young woman. Signed silver print, photographer's stamp on the back. Photo size: 30.5 x 27.2 cm Photo dimension including margin: 40.4 x 30.2 cm Brassaï settled in the Montparnasse district in the 1920s. He immortalized the mythical Paris of that time, with its quays plunged into the November mist, its monuments and its inhabitants from all social backgrounds. He also signed very beautiful portraits of his accomplices and friends, whether Jacques Prévert, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Henri Matisse, Alberto Giacometti or the writer Jean Genet. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
