Pop art tribute painting after Robert Indiana’s Golden 5, circa 1970s. This large scale example was likely created by a Boston area art student. Interestingly, Indiana’s Golden 5 painting was itself an homage to Charles Demuth’s 1928 work, Figure 5 in Gold, which was in turn inspired by William Carlos William’s poem “The Great Figure.”
