This is one of the remaining Little Gem Series created on an unforgettable day spent roaming the grounds at Chicago's Botanic Gardens. George was beside himself, running from bush to bush, sketching like a madman and calling out to me to "come and see this one." He had created so many sketches that day that it became inevitable that he would forget to label each of them. The result being that we are not absolutely sure what these flowers actually are. (We think they are camellias, but we would not swear to it in a court of law.) It doesn't matter, though, because these flowers are BEAUTIFUL. Rendered as if in homage to the great John Singer Sargent, the blooms are created with thick, paint-laden brushstrokes and lush vibrant colors. This painting will make a great companion piece to any of your larger paintings or play a significant role on your growing gallery wall. The painting was created on an 8" x 8" canvas and measures 9" x 9" with frame. ART IS FOR EVERYONE!!! Enjoy!!!!
