This piece was inspired by a friend's recent visit to Caribou Ranch in Nederland, Colorado. She knows I love to paint a red barn. The red punch of color always a surprise among the neutral natural earth toned surroundings. I like to paint landscapes primarily using a palette knife technique to add some texture making it a bit more of an abstract piece.
