Carlo Lasinio: One of Italy's most distinguished engravers of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, Carlo Lasinio began his career as a painter at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice. He soon however turned to printmaking after his move to Florence in 1778, eventually producing two large series of etchings in 1787 and 1789. Carlo Lasinio also taught engraving techniques at the Accademia in Florence and became a Professor there in 1800.
