This is a late 1800s oil on canvas by the famous Paris Cityscape artist Caroline Burnett (1877-1950). This painting beautifully captures the bustling atmosphere of the Montmartre district in Paris. Caroline Burnett was an American painter who spent a good part of her artistic life in Paris. A member of the Société des Beaux-Arts de Paris, she exhibited her work at the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1898.
