The artist started painting Child's Play vertically, and decided when it was almost done that she liked it also horizontally -- so it could be hung either way by adding a wire (currently the wire makes it hang horizontally). She selected the title because the bright colors and random placement of shapes reminded her of a mess of kids' toys. This acrylic painting is on gallery wrapped canvas. It is initialed on the front and signed on the back, and has a UV protective varnish. It is in a black wood floater frame with a narrow gold front edge, which is ready to hang. Laurie MacMillan has enjoyed numerous awards and solo exhibitions, and has had pieces selected for over a hundred juried group shows. Her work is held in personal and business collections across the U.S., and in Canada and England.
