This woodblock print depicts a Tokugawa Period ( feudal period) court scene. The making of this piece likely dates to the 19th century, possibly before the Meiji Restoration in 1868, which heralded the end to the shogunate period. This woodblock print is in good original condition with wear consistent with age and use. There is loss of pigment in a vertical line toward the center of the scene, which was at one point a crease.
