After classical studies at the lycée du Parc Imperial in Nice, he started at the l'Ecole National des Arts Décoratifs. In 1952 Hemeret started his career as an illustrator and collaborated with several interior magazines. Not until 1966, he devoted his life to post impressionist painting and exhibited at Galerie Rosenberg in Paris the following year. He was soon contacted by Galeries d'Art. Thus, his international success started with around 40 exhibitions in the period 1975-2001 in Cannes, New York, Florida, Tokyo, Brussels, Luxembourg, Hamburg, California and Singapore. Claude Hemeret is a French contemporary artist, whose paintings seem to reflect the life he leads, rythmed by nature. His still life works are extremely popular. Born in Nice in 1929, thanks to his childhood spended in the sun, Hemeret grew fondling southern lights and scents fed him and quenched his thirst. His canvases recall the lavender’s perfume, cypresses, and the blazing Sun at noon.
