Edward Lear was a celebrated English artist, illustrator, poet, musician and author in the 19th century. During a stay in Northern Italy around 1880, Lear painted these 16 comic birds for a small boy named Charles Geffrard Pirouet who was staying at the same hotel. Each playful image is surrounded with a coordinating colored mat and fresh white wood frame.
