Beautiful Contemporary Organic Form Pastel, by Mitsuyo Moore, 1 of 1 signed. The piece has an array of soft colors of blue, brown, gray, yellow, white, teal, red, turquoise, and black. When we first saw this piece, Egon Schiele, work titled “crouching nude in shoes and black stockings” at the Metropolitan Museum in NYC came to mind, along with subtle elements of Francis Bacon, just a fabulous 1 of 1 piece, we love it. Artist Bio: Reading the philosophy of the 1927 Nobel Prize recipient Henry Bergson, gave me the direction for my art. Bergson’s philosophy —“Durée Pure” and “Elan Vital”— has deepened my own appreciation of the significance of the intuition and inner spirit of human beings. Line is the most basic element of vision, as it reveals rhythm, movement and spirituality. Color enhances the vision and also stimulates emotions. Prior to starting work, I meditate. This allows me to encounter my spirit in order to communicate with my feelings and translate them into line and color. An illness in Japan resulted in two close encounters with death. As a result of these experiences, my consciousness of life, and the human spirit were intensified.
