Contemporary Print Of 4Th Of July Fashion 1962

Chairish

$290

This amazing one-off print was part of Derujinsky's process in finding lost images he'd neglected to save negatives of. Like all of us, the imposter syndrome managed its way into his psyche and he'd discarded hundreds of his negatives. His self-dicovery of his gifts would only return in his late 70's through his 80s. I suggest we consider ourselves gifted and leave it to historians to decide later. That being said, he had a copy of the rarest kind, Harper's Bazaar International, a very short-lived collection of publications. He scanned and restored these images and made a few experimental prints. This is one of two. I have listed the other for sale here also. I have one of each. I recommend you get them together. When I discovered all that my father was doing the magazines he had used were missing. I needed to research and find anything and everything I could. This process took 5 years. Many photos were unknown to me. I seriously lucked out finding this issue in near pristine condition offering up much of the details needed to tell the story. These images did not make it into my book. I managed to collect, scan, and restore 500 images. Twice what my father had. I had the two prints but no information. Here I share where these prints were from. These are not tear sheets, but actual prints from the issue. The beautiful model is my beautiful mom. She was a cover girl from 1950-1962. She landed 22 covers in her career. One of the few women making way for us today. Daring to cross roads and barriers to see the world. When you buy this print it is part of an American story. Be sure to look for its companion print listed in my shop. You will be glad to have both.
