A beautiful watercolor on paper measuring 8 1/4 x 10 inches. Signed lower left. Estate stamp verso. Painting is in excellent condition with no fading at all. Great original color. The corners show original tack holes where the artist would have tacked it to his easel when painting. Painting is unframed. Do your research on the artist. His works are really wonderful. For those not familiar with the artists his biography from "artists of the rockport art colony" reads: "leighton cram was an obscure modernist painter in the tradition of nettie lazzell and agnes weinrich. He painted in and around rockport, massachusetts for most of his life and is noted for his cubist dissection of objects and landscape subjects in the composition. He studied with j.S. Ankeney and charles kaelin. He was a charter member of the rockport art association, and exhibited in many eastern venues from the 1930s-40s."
