Cupid Statue is an original pencil and watercolor drawing on thick cream-colored paper, realized by an anonymous French artist of the end of XIX century. Monogrammed in brown watercolor on lower right corner ''G.B.''. This original drawing is in a black ink frame, representing a statue of cupid as a celebration of Love, reveals a skilled and trained hand. On the back a charcoal sketch representing female nudes with angels and cupid, perhaps a preparatory study. A pleasant modern artwork, in very good conditions, except for some graphite stains and dust on the sheet and a diffused foxing. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago by an artist who has died requires a licence for export regardless of the work’s market price.
