Abstract painting signed Gert [Gertrude] Fuhrman, dated 1957. It’s a joyous celebration of young motherhood and domestic life inspired by the artist’s own living room, and the child’s tricycle at bottom left is brilliantly depicted. Little information about the artist is available but she was certainly channeling her own truths through expressionism at the height of the movement in the mid-1950s.
