At age 25, he immigrated to Canada, where his interest in painting developed. He enrolled at the École des Beaux-Arts de Montréal, where he studied from 1956 to 1960. He then won a Max Beckmann Scholarship to continue his studies at the Brooklyn Museum Art School in New York. In 1961, Daglish married Marian Brown in Banff; soon after, he returned to England, where he continued his studies at the Slade School of Fine Art, in London, from 1963 to 1965. This was followed by teaching positions at the Ealing Art College, in London, and, from 1969 to 1971, at the University of Victoria in British Columbia. Returning to London, Daglish taught printmaking at the Slade School of Fine Art and the Chelsea School of Art from 1973 until his retirement in 1996. Daglish’s international interactions with the Fluxus movement, Pop Art, and performance art arose from his formal training in Montreal, New York, and London. He was a major influence on and long-time mentor to former student Eric Metcalfe. Daglish’s paintings of the 1960's have been collected by the National Gallery of Canada and many other institutions in Canada and abroad."
