Large scale painting by noted artist Terence La Noue, dated 1982. La Noue often titled his paintings after places he had visited. This piece, "Havasu IV", no doubt refers to the Lake Havasu area of Arizona, a state where La Noue had resided. Painted in thick acrylic on unstretched canvas, the work achieves a sculptural and ethereal effect by integrating fabric and impasto with stamped elements. The asymmetrical bottom border is also a recurring feature in La Noue's work.
