David Emile Joseph de Noter 'Still Life with Roses' Oil on Panel Belgium Mid 19th Century A still life with roses and jewelry by the renowned Belgian painter David Emile Joseph de Noter (1818 or 1825-1892). Wonderfully detailed and well painted. Features many wonderful elements like the yellow roses, the little blue flowers in between and the glass vase. Please also note the little decorative trinket box with jewelry. Great colors and a very romantic appearance overall. David Emile Joseph de Noter was a Belgian painter born in Ghent (Flanders) from a family of painters and artists. His father Jean-Baptiste de Noter was a painter of cityscapes and interiors. Also, his is uncle Pierre Francois was a renowned painter. David de Noter mostly painted still lifes with flowers, vegetables, seafood, poultry and fruit. De Noter painted in a realistic style but with a pronounced romantic atmosphere. His work can be found in numerous museums, for example in Brussels, St. Petersburg (Hermitage Museum), The Hague, Berlin, Amsterdam, Mulhouse, Prague, Cambrai and Algiers. Comes in its original gilt frame. Signed at the lower right.
