$7,205

Keep Your Ass Away from the Cactus' by David Shrigley, 2020 Screenprint in Colours on Wove, signed and numbered from the Edition of 125 in Pencil, published by AllRightsReserved, Hong Kong, sheet 76 x 56cm, framed. Shrigley was born in Macclesfield in 1968 and grew up in Oadby, Leicestershire. He began his studies at De Montfort University in 1987 and continued from 1988 to 1991 at the Glasgow School of Art, where he studied Environmental Art. Shrigley's work includes sculptures, paintings, animations, texts and photographs, but he is probably best known for his drawn cartoons, which are published both in books and in the form of postcards. For his drawings in particular, Shrigley often chooses a style that is characterized by its limited technique and is reminiscent of representatives of Art Brut. His works often appear unfinished or not professionally finished due to their simple forms, repeated spelling mistakes and cross-outs. However, this can be seen as a deliberately chosen stylistic device rather than a bungling and underlines the comic effect that Shrigley's works often achieve with their black-humored depiction of bizarre and absurd situations and figures. This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
