This abstract artwork combines layers of thick and thin oil paint mixed with sand, creating a contrast between high-sheen and matte finishes. Bristol-based Jack Paffett often uses his surroundings as a starting point for his artworks, before allowing them to become mutated by spontaneous impulses on the canvas. Over-painted, erased and then reworked, his abstract pieces always show remnants of the layers that came before.
