He studied art history, literature & philosophy at the University of Strasbourg. In 1987, he had eight acclaimed solo exhibitions and published several catalogs. Labauvie has been commissioned to create more than a dozen monumental sculptures for both private collectors and public art projects in France and in the US. His artwork is exhibited at the prestigious Gallery Maeght Paris and the Foundation Maeght in St. Paul, France.
