How delightful to be a wine connoisseur! All those flavors emanating from the terroir through the grapes graced by the year’s sunshine (or rain). Then it’s building complexity with aging plus the winemaker’s artistry to at last find its way into the bottle. And perhaps that bottle is handsomely labeled, sometimes even with great art commissioned just for the vintage.. If this describes your passion, you undoubtedly have a spot at home dedicated to careful wine storage and appreciation. After all, for at least 8,000 years, mankind has cultivated grapes specifically for wine. And then for centuries, winemaking has been the remit of monasteries and churches, as we may be viewing here. Apparently, a wistful thought of winemaking is baked into our DNA , even into our spiritual life. Why not satisfy such a basic urge by enjoying this bucolic work?
