Edgar Levy (New York, 1907-1975), Composition, Fire Island (No. 351), 1932-1934, signed verso and inscribed on verso with title, and date, oil on Masonite. Edgar Levy was a modernist painter whose style embraced Cubism and Surrealism. Levy lived and worked in Brooklyn, New York. He studied at the Art Students League and was a member of the Union of American Artists and the American Artists Congress. His work has been exhibited at The Whitney, MOMA, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Dimensions: 12-1/4 x 10-3/4 in.; gold leaf panel frame, 21-1/2 x 20-3/8 in. Condition: Good vintage condition.
