In Chalk Streams, Davies looks at the delicate ecosystems that are under threat. Chalk streams are a unique ecosystem that house a high biodiversity of plants and creatures. Their cool, fresh waters come from rain that permeates the chalk, filtering it and allowing it to flow through the flinty bedrock and emerge further down slopes as purely clear mineral water.
