Charming still life painting of an English porcelain teapot and candle warmer. The pale green teapot is decorated with pink roses and other pale flowers with foliage and trimmed with gold. The artist Galley, whose signature and year 1996 appear in lower right, was trained as a ceramicist and classical painter, influenced by Flemish painting. A gold frame adds to the elegance of this small piece, which measures: 8.75" x 6.75". The painting was commissioned by the Sally Hopkins Gallery in London (now closed). The gallery name/address, the number of the piece – 95 of 197 – and the original retail price of $725 are marked on the back.
